Buddy Writing
An extension of the successful Buddy Reading project, Buddy Writing aims to improve the writing skills of the children involved, and also give the older buddies an insight into children's writing skills and experience of working with children. This scheme has been developed for ROWA! and has been used successfully in secondary schools working with their feeder primaries over the last 3 years. There is also a shorter programme for primary schools to use.
ROWA! can arrange Buddy Writing training sessions for your older students in all age ranges eg Y2 working with Foundation, Yr6 working with Yr2, or Yr12 students working with primary students. Buddy Writing can also be used to train adults in your school, eg lunchtime supervisors and classroom volunteers.
2 x 90 minute sessions for up to 30 buddies - £500 + expenses.

Could you become a ROWA! Buddy Writing trainer?
ROWA! likes to work with excellent teachers to deliver its school based services and is currently recruiting teachers for its pool of trainers. This is a fantastic opportunity for schools and their teachers:
- the teacher receives full training on how to deliver a ROWA! course
- the school benefits from gaining the fully trained staff who can then deliver the training within their school
- ROWA! will pay the full supply costs + travel expenses for that teacher when we require them to deliver the training to other schools in your area on our behalf.
