School Based Support

Buddy Writing

An extension of the successful Buddy Reading project, Buddy Writing aims to improve the writing skills of younger children involved, and also give the older buddies an insight into children's writing development and experience of working with children. This scheme has been developed for ROWA! and has been used successfully in secondary schools working with their feeder primaries over the last 3 years. There is also a shorter programme for primary/junior schools to use.

Programme 1 is aimed at either Yr12 students or volunteer adults or classroom assistants working with Yr5/6 children. Read more about this programme here.

Programme 2 is aimed at Yr5 or 6 pupils working on a shorter programme with children in Yr2.
