1. Make a Bookmark

Decorate a piece of card, approx 2" x 7" - or you could print off the pdf below, where there are four designs for bookmarks.

Paint it, colour it, add tassles, draw your favourite character, or write and colour in your name on it.

Let your imagination run wild!

2. Make a Puppet

Make a puppet of your favourite character. You could use a sock or a dolly peg, an old wooden spoon, or even the cardboard roll from toilet tissue. For more ideas, visit these websites:

3. Create a Diorama

A diorama is a 3-d model. Choose a scene from one of the books and use a shoebox or similar on its side to make a model of the scene. You can paint the inside of the box and make the trees, buildings and characters from card, with tabs to help them stand up.

4. Make some bookends.

  • Decorate 2 large stones - heavy enough to support your books.
  • Fill 2 large jars with pebbles, sand, or rice, pasta
  • Use 2 empy tissues boxes, containing a heavy stone, or brick. Then wrap with wrappying paper, or use plain paper and decorate it yourself.

5. Favourite books

Make a mini book and write in it a list of your favourite books.
