What we do

 

Projects - Family Learning

Play and Learn

  • Play and Learn is a 6 week programme for parents/carers of pre-school children with each session lasting 2 hours.
  • The programme raises awareness of the literacy and numeracy needs of young children.
  • 3 sessions will focus on literacy and 3 on numeracy.

 

  • The programme gives parents skills and strategies to develop their children's literacy and numeracy skills through play, and increases their confidence in their ability to support their children in learning.
  • A rucksack of stimulating toys and resources is loaned to parents to use throughout the course.
  • The children are invited to join their parents for the last 30 minutes of sessions 3 and 6 when they will join in with fun activities.
