Moving On Up

A new 10 week programme for parents of children in transition from primary to secondary school.

The aims of the programme are:

To introduce and raise awareness of various topics affecting the transition from Year 6 to Year 7.
To increase parents' confidence and empower them to support their children's learning.
To introduce parents to key members of staff, in an informal setting, and raise awareness of their role in school in relation to the child.
To make parents aware of the information and support provided by the school and encourage them to work in partnership to support the child to reach his/her potential.
To introduce parents to the range of technologies used by children and schools, including on-line reporting on their child's wellbeing and performance.
To provide opportunities for parents to identify their own learning needs and to provide progression routes.
