Projects - Family Learning

Keeping Up with the Kids ICT

  • This short programme consists of 6 x 2 hour sessions and is for parents/ carers only.
  • Parents and carers are shown how and why ICT is used and taught in schools.
  • During each session the parents/carers work on one element of ICT and these include:
    • art packages
    • word processing
    • desk top publishing
    • the Internet
    • e-mail
    • data handling
  • Parents/carers will have the opportunity to use software packages used by their children in school and to compare these with packages widely available on home PCs.
  • The sessions allow adults to improve their own ICT skills, to increase knowledge and confidence and help them to support their children's learning.
