Projects - Family Learning

Every Object Tells a Story

  • Every Object Tells a Story is an 8 week programme for parents/carers of primary school children.
  • Each session lasts 2.5 hours, with the children joining in for the last hour.
  • The programme uses family objects and stories as a starting point to develop language, literacy and ICT skills.
  • The course includes a visit to a local museum.
  • Adults and children will:
    • develop speaking and listening skills;
    • learn research skills;
    • use ICT in research and to record information;
    • find out about the history of their local community;
    • have fun working together as a family.
  • This also provides and opportunity to invite grandparents and share experiences from different generations.
