From Day One CD-rom

'Having gone through the material on From Day One, I would like to say how much I appreciated the excellent resource. I have shown it to several parents, and they have also been helped by it. Many parents are concerned about what they should teach their children about reading and often ask me for help and advice, so now I can point them to the manual!

The staff who work here have also found it a very useful resource, giving realistic, easy to use suggestions, but also extending their knowledge base.

The manual is very clear with lots of excellent, practical tips. It is 'jargon-free' but not patronising in any way. It has lots of good ideas for easily made games, and is suitable for a wide age range of children. There is something in it for the very young, right through to those starting school.

If finances permitted, I would like to give a copy to every parent as the children start with me! It reinforces everything that we do here at Promises and also gives more suggestions for parents to build on for themselves.

Hopefully, this will help give more children access to reading, and encourage children and parents to enjoy reading together.
