Below you will find details of resources which are available to Partners in Literacy pilot projects and may be available for other Derbyshire projects, groups and front line workers.
On each pdf you will find a description of the way each resource is traditionally used, but we would also like you to think about ideas for using them in different ways, to take the Partners in Literacy strategy forward in your area of work. |

Think about:
- a course doesn't have to be like going back to school. They can be very informal, can take place in a variety of friendly venues and at various times to suit needs... and don't call it a course!
- home-grown or self-help groups, which could be set up to meet at times and venues to suit. Groups may need access to funding, resources and occasional training support, but should be self-organised and run to suit the group's interests.
- short informal workshops - one day or less, arranged anywhere, anytime.
- existing volunteers can be given specific literay training to support vulnerable families with whom they already work OR new volunteers can be trainined to support families in projects.
- resources - bought or made - and available to parents/carers to borrow, or to keep, or to help set up home-grown groups, or taken along to established groups which meet regularly.
If you would like to find out more about any of the resources below or if you know of any other resources to add to the list, please email annette.lowe@derbyshire.gov.uk with details.
